Azevedo-Hitchcock is recognized as one of the finest wrestling skills training camps in the World, this California based wrestling camp offers a unique opportunity for wrestlers to become great wrestlers. Training commences during the summer in beautiful Squaw Valley, USA. The camp is located in the Olympic Village which is a world-class ski resort created for the 1960 Winter Olympic Games.
The goal of Azevedo Wrestling is to remain true to the rich tradition of the Vaughn Hitchcock Wrestling Camp while evolving the training to meet the needs of the modern day Wrestler. Our Wrestling Camps are designed to to create a highly skilled and well-rounded wrestler.Each wrestler will be involved in six hours of wrestling instruction daily. Additional emphasis will be placed on weight training, goal setting, weight management, and mental preparation. The Azevedo Wrestling camp instruction is designed to motivate the novice wrestler and challenge the more advanced. It will be up to the wrestler to decide how much they want to achieve.
Facilities
Squaw Valley USA is a Premier ski resort. The Squaw Valley resort boasts a cable car that can carry you 8,100 feet above the Valley floor, ice skating rink, large swimming pool, river rafting, hiking areas, climbing wall and much more. The wrestling facility is a huge, all-weather, tent pavilion, providing each athlete with a fresh and exciting outdoor/indoor environment. The camp wrestling store will include a variety of items including: clothing, videos, food, equipment, and other related items.
Wrestlers are treated to a World Class setting while receiving World Class training.
Living Accommodations
During the summer months, the Squaw Valley Hostel (Ski Lodge) and adjacent areas convert into a sports camp particularly well suited for summer wrestling camps. All wrestlers and facilities are supervised 24 hours a day. Each wrestler will be assigned sleeping areas at check-In. The Hostel also includes a lounge, and arcade games.
Meals
Meals will be prepared and served by a catering company. An exceptional menu with a wide assortment of health conscious foods will be prepared fresh, with unlimited helpings sure to satisfy any wrestler's appetite.
What to bring
Each Camper should bring:
hygiene items
sleeping bag
towel
pillow and pillow case
wrestling shoes
workout gear for 10 sessions (there are limited laundry facilities at the camp)
socks
running shoes
any other accessories. e.g., Alarm clock, flashlight, etc…
Wrestling gear and accessories can be purchased in advance at our Wrestling Store where you'll find Great Gear at Great Prices. We carry all the major brands like ASICS, Adidas / Brute, Cliff Keen, and MatMan. Wrestling shoes, wrestling singlets, wrestling headgear, and wrestling kneepads are readily available.
Acceptance packages
After your registration is processed, you will receive the an acceptance package by email o be sure to provide an e-mail that is monitored by a parent. This package will include vital information about check-in through check-out. Each camper will have to complete a Parent Authorization Form and a Medical Liabilty Release form.

Interested in Multiple Sessions?
Supervision provided between Sessions
Athletes are invited to stay over for as many sessions as they feel will benefit their progress. Although it is not required, accommodations (lodging and meals daily) for males only, as well as supervision is available at a fee of $50 per day between sessions. Currently: Female athletes are welcome as commuters only.
Cancellation Policy
Notice of cancellation must be received in writing by July 1, 2012 in order to receive a refund of the registration fee, less the $100 non-refundable deposit. No refunds will be given after July 1, 2012. Substitutions will be accepted with advanced notice or credit will be given with medical verification.
Health Insurance
All participants in the Azevedo-Hitchcock wrestling camp will be covered by secondary, accident insurance provided by USA Wrestling as part of camps tution. This policy in non-duplicating and covers medical expenses that are within the range of its limits, except for those costs covered by other valid and collectible insurance policies. No individual or group will be allowed to wrestle without a signed parent authorization form with medical policy information listed.
